+80% Italian exports to Libya in the first 10 months of 2022

During the first ten months of 2022, italian exports to Libya increased by 80.48% compared to the same period of 2021, with 1.765 bln € and a market share of 13.21%. Italy has overtaken China and now is Libya’s second supplier country after Turkey, which totalized 2,23 bln €, +19.4% compared to the first ten months of 2021, with a market share of 16.72%. China follows in the third place with 1.762 bln €, +21.24% compared to the same timeframe of 2021 and a market share of 13.19%. Greece and Belgium are in fourth and fifth place, respectively with a market share of 12.2% and 8.14%.
On the other hand, Italian imports from Libya increased by 74.74% with 8.14 bln €. During the first ten months of 2022, Italy has been confirmed as the first target market of Libyan exports, with a market share of 28.09%, preceding Spain (10.7% and 3.2 bln €), Germany (9.01% and 2.70 bln €) and China (7.81% and 2.33 bln €). The following Countries are Greece (+215.79% over the same period of 2021 and 1.98 bln €), United States (+18.3% and 1.85 bln €), France (+23.94% and 1.8 bln €) and the Netherlands (18.81% and 1.66 bln €).
Italy has been also confirmed as Libya’s first trade partner. During the first ten months of 2022, Italy-Libya trade reached an amount of 10.17 bln €, with a +75.71% compared to the same timeframe of 2021 and a market share of 23.5%, preceding China (9.47% of market share with 4.1 bln €), Greece (8.33% with 3.61 bln €), Spain (8,23% with 3.56 bln €), Germany (7.19% with 3.11 bln €), Turkey (6.59% with 2.85 bln €) and United States (4.8% with 2.08 bln €).
